We see trees to fell
We fail to hear the stories a forest can tell
Timber to count
Of life giving life, until we come Gaia’s fount
Land to clear
Rebirth and renewal every year
Fields to sow
How nature nothing away throws
We see nature as something to tame
Our beloved planet will never be the same
We must learn, or live in man made hell
Teach each other to hard challenges surmount
Learn to hold our only planet dear
Accept that to some laws of nature we must bow
Because if Earth dies beneath our feet, we only got ourselves to blame

Luv the rhyming. Nice, even though i find the burden
on earthlings ominous
Happy Sunday

Wise and true words RedCat! Words all humans need to hear. This is lovely. So glad to see you at the Muse!
The counterpoints were powerful and the last line more than a little unnerving.
Wonderful Gaia take on the prompt!
This is qbit…
Nicely structured, with the first 10 lines working either vertically or horizontally. Alas, what you say is too true.
Powerful and so true I like how you have set this up
Planet of the apes?
I once saw, and heard a tall zombiie tree fall. It crumbled straight down, top to bottom, an experience I’ll never forget.
..
Like the truth, the back and forth of your thoughts …. nice write.
We may have only ourselves to blame if Earth dies, but many among us will (sadly) simply shrug their shoulders and say, “Oh, well. It’s not my problem.”
Ain’t that the bloody truth RC! We are slowing killing mother Gaia. I wonder if this Covid-19 is her retaliation to either wake us up, or kill us?
