“Clawing need of belonging” is such a lovely phrase!
I second Philip :) gorgeous phrasing in this one! 💝💝
Lovely rhyming here. I like the phrase “touch deprivation” – we are just mammals who need to snuggle sometimes, really.
This captures my wants, for sure. We have all learned the simple pleasure of a hug or lunch with a friend.
we miss tactile connections with family great quadrille
I suppose “cyber touch and kiss” will have to do….for now, anyway, but getting back to those tactile pleasures ASAP is a MUST.
A great poem of emotional intensity. Not having one to count on in the aspect you describe makes it even worse, like a “phantom limb of partnership.”
I like this! However, I’m not sure how long I can continue to “abide this / Abiding isolation.”
I love how clever your wording is here: “abiding isolation…” We all seem to be biding our time for sure. This was excellent. <3
I love the rhymes in your quadrille, which I read aloud, and it sounded like a rap. I too am suffering from ‘touch deprivation’ and that ‘clawing need of belonging’ – excellent phrases to describe our current plight of surviving on ‘cyber touch and kiss’.
Patience!
Trying times, indeed.
It’s hard… but we have to abide the ordeals
