  1. Apologies for reading and commenting late, but after the live OLN, I was so tired, and we had the electrician in yesterday to sort out the heating – there is still none in the study or dining room! I love that you used Kerfe’s image to write an ekphrastic poem, Helene! Sometimes it’s hard to hear the readings on OLN Live, there are sometimes background noises, so it was wonderful to go back to it this morning and read it again and make new discoveries. I love the steady rhythm and the rhyming, and the way you created a night sky through sibilance. I especially enjoyed the internal rhyme in the lines:
‘Sail the word-stream on a moonbeam
Befriend the shadow, she inspiration bestow
    Clear singing book-stream, a poet’s dream’.

  2. I love the rhythm of this–and what you did with the prompt to the art. Your invisible city sound like a wondrous place where you can:

    “Follow stories of the rainbow
Sail the word-stream on a moonbeam
    Befriend the shadow”
