Fool’s Journey to Enlightenment (2020 Re-post)

Fool’s journey to enlightenment

One life
Two hands
Three in any holy trinity
Four cardinal points
Five sacred elements
Six, love and sex, contain sacredness
Seven chakras to shine clear
Eight Sabbats in the wheel
Nine, three fold law times three
Ten Sephirots emanating divine light
Eleven mysterious knowledge insights
Twelve full moons, and one blue orange
Thirteen witches in the magic coven

Nineteen, loving wisdom hope govern
Twenty-Twenty karmic judgment appear, grow better, renew, global catastrophe draws near
Twenty One light’s biannual turning point
Twenty Two spiritual paths to ascend the three

One hundred words to set you free

It’s nearly midnight. My mind is spinning. So this felt like a good choice for Wandering the Archives Wednesday.

Enjoy!

First idea, one hundred lines of poetry, counting up. Before the tenth, hmm, maybe if I had a week to work. Edited idea, one hundred words.

My favorite prompt of the week, The Sunday Muse, celebrates its hundredth.

Also linked to The Writers’ Pantry and Promote Yourself Monday.

Happy 100th Musing everyone!

Tomorrow is first of April, the beginning of Easter, or Ostara if you’re so inclined. It’s also the first day of Global Poetry Writing Month. I participated last year without knowing what I got myself into.

I managed to write 30 poems with some help from my favourite writing community site’s.

This year I have actually planned a bit ahead. Thinking over which sites gives the prompts that inspires me most. And signing up for another Ekprastic Challenge.

You’ll find me writing to art at The Wombwell Rainbow, to the always inspiring Skyloverswordlist, my poetry home at dVerse Poet’s Pub, and perhaps also The Sunday Muse, Poet’s and Storytellers United and Earthweal.

See you at the poetry trail! 💕

I’m Gonna Help Mommy With Laundry

I’m gonna help mommy with laundry
We’re gonna wash everything clean
Then hang it all by clothespins
My shirt so white that it gleams

Suddenly I remember the red fox
I dropped him yesterday in the rain
I better put him in the washer
So my brother can’t see the stains

I bundle the fox with my bed-sheets
Feeling so clever and grown
Now, no one will know that I took it
Without asking for a loan

From the washroom, suddenly there’s a yell
Every white sheet is now pale pink
Sighing, mommy looks at me sternly
– Whatever did you think?

Cherry Blossoms – A Haibun

Cherry Blossoms in Stockholm

The cherry trees are budding. Like the love in our hearts.
Soon it will fill the garden with clouds of blossoms.
That will rain upon us as we kiss beneath the bright spring moon.

Love’s first pale pink blush
Hides high summer’s hot passion
And fall’s thunderstorms

Decided to keep it as short and sweet as possible.

Raindrops Keep Fallin’ on My HeadLåt by B.J. Thomas – Saturday Song

Raindrops Keep Fallin’ on My HeadLåt by B.J. Thomas

This week’s Saturday Song is an oldie but goodie, from 1969. That for some reason only the earworm knows started to play in my head as I took an evening walk.

Enjoy!

Raindrops keep falling on my head

But that doesn’t mean my eyes will soon be turning red

Crying’s not for me

‘Cause I’m never gonna stop the rain by complaining

Because I’m free

Nothing’s worrying me

It won’t be long till happiness steps up to greet me

Migraine – A Pantoum

Pain searing like the burning sun

Every sound a banshee scream

Like Hell’s pandemonium has begun

Torture ascending with every sunbeam

Every sound a banshee scream

Every colour a sharp cutting blazon

Torture ascending with every sunbeam

Every movement like being bludgeoned

Every colour a sharp cutting blazon

Every whisper a klaxon scream

Every movement like being bludgeoned

Every breath makes cold sweat stream

Every whisper a klaxon scream

Like Hell’s pandemonium has begun

Every breath makes cold sweat stream

Pain searing like the burning sun

I love writing Pantoums. I hate having migraines.

Witch Voices (2020 Re-post)

Night Poured Over the Desert
Sheila Sund, Salem, United States [CC BY 2.0)]

We live in solitude, we three
Three for one and one for three
You will think us an apparition, you’ll see

Lives run by magic and moon
Moon and magic sees us identical to humdrum brain loon
Only a loon they say
Sees witches on a moonless day

Just a platitude, that we can time fold
We are not centuries old
Just an old tale
Again, and again re-told

Our roots run deep
Deep down where shared memory sleep
We feel the gravity of your leap
Need to renew, to wonder keep

Like the canary in the mine
Mine and your soul is on the line
Soul locked in a dark cage, let it fly free – soar
On inspiration dine
Lore by unique poet voices shine

We are the circle of mother, maiden, crone
In the circle we the Goddess intone
She steers our lives with wisdom felt deep in the bone

Re-post comment:

Middle of the week means Wandering the Archives Wednesday. Tonight an echo poem that still makes me smile. And wonder when the three witches might turn up the next time. The original post was published 3 January 2020.

Hope you enjoy it to!

Written for both PLAY IT AGAIN! with REAL TOADS and A Skylover Word List ~ Apparition.
My second choice for PLAY IT AGAIN! became: Kerry Says ~ Let’s Find Our Poetic Voice (from July 2015). And just because my muse took me in that direction it also became another attempt at echo poetry.

The three witches appeared through my pen when I started writing poetry. They are free, headstrong characters that sometimes have their way with me. You can also find them in December Moon. Witches brew and Yesteryear Cheer.

I owe thanks for my inspiration to Kerry, without her prompts I wouldn’t have managed this, to Björn who showed how it should be done. And to Terry Pratchett for writing hilarious and thought provoking witches.

Broadway Boogie Woogie

Count Basie – Basie Boogie

Come on my beauty
Stop being all broody
Put on a dress, get out of your pajama

Come on sweet cookie
Stop looking so gloomy
Paint your lips, forget all the drama

I know the stage is all quiet and spooky
I know we all feel sad and droopy
We’ll turn on the lights and tune the piano

Fill the place with laughter and goofy
With everything that makes life goody goody
I won’t let my love wilt in the shadow

Tell the piano player to play the boogie woogie
We’ll dance ‘til we’re all happy and woozy
Let’s us hear again your soaring soprano

Written for tonight’s Poetics: The Poet as Painter prompt at dVerse. Where Laura asks us to choose one title of modern and contemporary abstract art and write a painterly poem – in other words, paint a picture that we imagine fits the title.

I chose Broadway Boogie Woogie by Piet Mondrian, as it directly spoke to my longing for dance and fun. And while listening to Count Basie, imagined a very different painting then the referenced one.
