Birth Echoes Through Time – 15 December (2020 Re-post)

Birth echoes through all our time
Time shard echoes in our minds
Minds echo with contact cruel or kind
Cruel or kind actions, echo through humankind
Humankind echoes, with what was done before our time
Time to shed the old, to let new life echo all around

Re-post comment:

I’m running late for everything it feels like. But mostly it’s about the writing I have left to do. And the fact that I haven’t prepared the advent calendar as I had thought to do. So here a day late you’ll get the post I have thought to re-post to free my time up and celebrate my oldest turning ten.

Enjoy!

At first I thought I’d do a re-post today, of my first Echo Poem, to give me free birthday time. But my mind keep going round and round in echoes, so I had to write a new one.

Each year in the day leading up to my children’s birthday I have flashbacks of birth both in mind and body. Not something I mention often as it sound so trippy, but both my own mother and others have described similar feelings. And if your open to it, giving birth is one of the most profound birth-death-rebirth experiences, aka trips, a woman can have.

Entangled Encounter (2020 Re-post)

Connected through space
Known in another life
Wearing an unknown face
Recognition cuts like a knife

Known in another life
Near enough to soul-mark place
Wearing an unknown face
Marching to the same fife

Near enough to soul-mark place
Spooky entanglement from someplace
Marching to the same fife
Reborn from afterlife

Spooky entanglement from someplace
Connected through space
Reborn from afterlife
Wearing an unknown face

Re-post comment:

Tonight’s wander through the archives yielded one of the first Pantoums I wrote.
Since then it has become one of my favorite forms.

Enjoy!

Galaxy of unknown stars

Artist impression of a firestorm of star birth deep inside core of young, growing elliptical galaxy.

Sailing towards a galaxy of unknown stars
Space full of still unexplored planets
Dreams of visiting unseen worlds
Fantasies of learning yet unheard words

Only the travellers self doubt exhilaration mars
Fears streaking by like comets
Old scars chafing like forming pearls
Nightmares circling like buzzards

Following the call of twin hear-soul lodestars
Drinking the mead of poets
Freed imagination new star sparks swirl
Awakened inspiration newfound stories herd

Sailing towards a galaxy of unknown stars
Newly discovered hopes skyrocket
Dreams of visiting unseen worlds
Fantasies grow wings and soar like spacebirds

Written for this weekend’s writing prompt by Sammi Cox. The word is galaxy and the word-count is exactly 92 words.

The rhyme scheme is ABCD. and the first A and C line repeat in the last stanza.

Space Oddity – Acrostic poem, Ekphrastic Challenge January 21

Kerfe Roig – Milky Way

Spread your wings
Prepare for fantasy’s flight
Adventure begins
Come sail star studded space
Expect unexpectedness

Open heart, open eyes, open mind
Dare to fly free
Dream the impossible
Investigate with curiosity
Trust inspirations gifts
Yearn for the wisdom hiding behind the unknown

Once again I fell deep into one of the art pieces. Hearing a familiar and favorite song.

For all art and poetry go to The Wombwell Rainbow.

Bolide

Brighter than the Moon
Sharp November night noon

The skies roll and rumble
Like Mjölnir thrown in full tumble

As the Goddess chariot descend
To bless a woman ready to ascend
Prepare her for all she’ll trandencend

Color, sex, gender
Weather a woman can
Command, govern and defend

Armour her to break the glass ceiling
Love so she remembers she’s a person with real feelings
Accompany her in this new world story
Be a fast friend in this uncharted territory

Follow the light of the rising star
Guided by science not the conspiratorial bizarre

Flash of insight
Soul-searing bright
Real change comes with grassroot might

As evolution and backward-looking Luddites collide
Future illuminated by the light of a Bolide

This poem was inspired by the apparent Bolide over Sweden yesterday evening, and by everything I felt and thought as I, with tears streaming down my face, saw Kamala Harris’ speech.

Sonnet read by Sir Patric Stewart

The other day, as I contemplated participating in GloPoWriMo 2020, I found this fabulous advise in on or their posts

… “check out noted thespian and space captain Sir Patrick Stewart’s twitter account, where he is posting a video of himself reading one of Shakespeare’s sonnets every day, under #sonnetaday?”

So off you go – listen to a sonnet or two. Or all eleven so far… ❤️
